The delightful Molly Shannon has been making audiences laugh since she first stepped onstage at 'Saturday Night Live' 15 years ago. In the years since, she's been a constant and welcome presence on both the big and small screens, with roles in everything from 'Will & Grace' and 'Sex and the City' to 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' and 'Web Therapy.' More recently, she went toe-to-toe with the formidable Jane Lynch on 'Glee' and can now be seen making her Broadway debut in the Tony-winning musical 'Promises, Promises.'
She's also teaming up with Centrum to celebrate "America's Most Amazingly Energized Woman" -- those special ladies who do it all with a smile on their face. "There's a website they have called LoveFeelingHealthy.com where you can go and nominate someone you know who you think has a great amount of energy. Basically, you write a brief essay if you want to nominate a friend and they're going to pick the finalists and the winner receives a package of all these dozens of great adventures," Shannon says. "It's really great."
The Emmy-nominated actress talked to PopEater about her 'Promises' co-star Kristin Chenoweth's "angelic" voice, having the "time of her life" with Betty White on 'SNL,' staying in touch with her former castmates and her next project, a comedy in which she'll play a cloistered nun who busts out of the convent.
You're making your Broadway debut now in 'Promises, Promises' with the very talented twosome of Sean Hayes and Kristin Chenoweth. How's that notoriously-hectic Broadway schedule treating you?
It's really fun.
